(Received January "26th, 10.25 p.m.) LONDON, January 26. The strikers contend that if apartial resumption was uermitted for the &ako of the hospitals aud other institutions, tho merchants would bo no worse oil for the strike, which, moreover, would speedily be defeated, owing to the men's broken ranks. Their executive, nevertheless, will consider the question of supplying hospitals to-day. The* strike has led to enormous demands for briquettes, coke, aud wood. The London Labour Conciliation and Arbitration Board has offered its services to settle tho strike. The employers have announced that they are ready to arbitrate.
