Glenongley and Sveaborg. who pulled up lame after racing at the South Canterbury Meeting, have again joined the active brigade. The former will be sent to the West Coast very shortly.
The latest addition to R. J. Mason's team is the four-year-old bay gelding Valhalla. As a two-year-o!d this gelding had the refutation of. being able to -gallop very fast, but unfortunately met with an accident while running in the paddock, and he still bears a very unsightly scar on one of his knees. G. Murray-Aynsley has , disposed of his two year-old filly Bee, by Martfan— Lady Disdain, to a patron of R. Longley's stable. It is more than prcbablo flint this filly will bo sent to Melbourne, and as she can gallop fast she should pay her way at the pony meetings. r Counsel, the winner of the Hororata Cup, was offered for public sale in Ohristchurch at the conclusion of the Oun Mooting, the put upon th.3 gelding being 100 guineas. He would so-cn have paid his way if he had ohnntrpd hanrls at that moderate figure. Whilst doing a gallop on the beach at Poririm last Wednesday, the Bezonian filly Melpomene ran into a post and was badly staked, an artery being ruptured. Sho is under veterinary" treatment, and it is hoped she may be saved, but her injuries are such that she may never be able to race.
