SUMMARY AND FORECAST.

Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weathef summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday:— "Warm and hazy weather prevailed on Snturday, but cloudiness increased everywhere on Sunday, and Tain has fallen eincs in many parts. The barometer is now lowest off the East Cape, where a disturbance is at present centred. Present indications are for strong variable winde, easterly and south-easterly predominating. The weather is likely to prove unsettled, thick and fogey generally, and very boisterous along the East Const and in the northern portions of the North Island, with heavy rain- and rivers rising in those districts. The barometer is unsteady, but a further fall is likely to take place everywhere shortly. '
