ARMAMENTS AND EDUCATION.

Mr Asquith, speaking at Oldham, said that the expenditure of Britain and Eifrope, if maintained at the present rato for the next decade, would cause grave disquietude. Britain was faced with a demand for increased educational expenditure, and the time had come to re-examine the whole system of taxation. Haphazard rebates under the graduated income tax should be replaced by a more equitable incidence.
