ALLEGED THEFT.

CUSTOMS CLERK CHARGED. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., George Clifford Francis, clork, and James Anderson Campbell were jointly charged with theft on April 4th, 1913. of £22 os, the property of J. H. Parker and Co. Campbell, who had already been arrested and'remanded, did not appear. Chief Detective Bishop asked that the accused be remanded till to-day, to appear with the other men. • Mr Twyneham, who appeared for Francis, asked for bail. The Magistrate: Hβ can have the same bail as the others.

Accused was remanded till to-morrow. Bail was allowed, eelf in £250. and two sureties of £250 each, or one of £500.
