JOTTINGS FOR FARMERS.

Iα a butcher'e shop in Tlangitikei street, Palmertton North, on Friday, the.-o was exhibited what is claimed to be the heaviest four-tooth wether ever killed in Manawatu. The sheep was a Leicester bred by Mcßae, of Stoney Creek. When killed it turned the scale at 181ibs. From tho broadness of ite back it must have looked more liko a ,po!o-pony than a sheep.

A farmer in the Sar.don distriofc has disposed of tho whole of his season's output of fat lambs at 15s per head, states the "Feilding Star." This is a \ r ery satisfactory figure indeed, and in one or two cases an even higher pricp has been obtainea for a consignment of fat lambs. Prices of stores havo increased corerspondingly, rising as high as 19s a head. Last year lambs fetched up to 13s 6dj and that was considered a satisfactory price to farmer.
