HAYWARD'S PICTURES.
The programme of Hayward's Pictures screened at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday afternoon and evening, was witnessed and greatly appreciated by large audiences. The principal film of the new programme to be screened to-light will be the domestic drama, "Forgiveness." The story told is of a selfish man who neglects his wife and child for an actress, and when his wife dies he sends his child to her grandmother. Ultimately the man is brought by jtHvation almost to death's door, but is discovered by his i mother-in-law, who forgives him all his past delinouencies. Tho supporting tilnis will "bo:—"Won by a Shirt" I (comedy), "The Prisoner of Golden Isle," "A Woman in the Ultimate," Acrobatic Duo, "Father's Chicken Dinner " and "Oscar'e Day in the Country." FULLER'S PICTURES. There were largo audiences at the afternoon and evening exhibitions of Fuller's Pictures at the Colosseum on Saturday. A special programme will be shown at tho Colosseum for to-night only . The collection includes thy star' feature drama, "The Rival Adventurers," a brilliant and stirring picture-play, "Picturesque* Italy" (scenic), "The Younger Generation 5, (drama), "Three Mother-in-Laws" (comedy), "The Wonderful Gamp" (comic), "The Twin Brothers" (drama), "Through Asia Minor" (scenic), "Bully's Stratagem" (comedy), and "Tho Tourists ,, (comic). To-mor-row there will be a special revival of "Quo Vadis," with beautiful accompanying music by Fuller's Premier Orchestra. OPERA HOUSE. There was a packed house at _£ho Oipera House on Saturday night. Owing to their enormous success last week, Mr Arthur Troutt and his Mermaid have been specially engaged for six nights' longer. Ford and Davis, operatic vocalists, will present an entirely new and original act, and T>avis, Allan and Davis will appear in new specialities. Ofhcr -fjivivite artiste appearing will include K"eldine and Speed, comedy cyclists and ac. oba dc comedj.ins; Paul Jeacle, in his whistling specialities; Tho Croydon3, clog dancers extraordinary; Cbnway and Johnson, serios and dancers; and Miss May Brilliant, English comedinenne. SYDENHAM PICTURES. There was a large attendance at the Sydenham Pictures on Saturday night, and tho programme was thoroughly enjoyed. To-night a varied and enjtertainjng progs-ammo containing a list of films, educational, interesting, and amusing will be screened. The star item, "The Rival Adventurers," a dramatic item of 2500 feet in length, depicts stirring and thrilling episod&s 'The Younger Generation" and "Twin Brothers" are also dramas with intense combinations. Other items include "Picturesque Italy," "Three Mothers-in-law," "That Wonderful Gamp," "Through Asia Minor," and "The Tourists.".. QUEEN'S THEATRE. Saturday's sessions at tho Queen' 3 Continuous Picture Theatre, Hereford, street, attracted the usual crowd. The two extra pictures, "Little Boy Blue," a charming children's drama, and "Bronco Billy's Christmas Dinner," a Western comedy drama, were greatly enjoyed. These two films will be repeated to-day and to-night as extra items on tho current programme. The music supplied by Mr Charles Fleming's orchestra on Saturday- was a popular feature of the bill-of-fare. The "biweekly change of films will be mad© tomorrow. GLOBE PICTURES. Excellent patronage was extended to tho Globe Pictures on Saturday, and tho programme was a pleasing one Today a new selection of pictures will Bβ shown, which will include: —"The Sacrifice at the Spillway" (star drama), "Crayfish," "Law and His Son," "Tho Hobo and the Myrth," "Jim, Wanted by the Police," and "Warwick Chronicio" QUO VTDIS? The world's leading picture play being a complete evening's entertainment, will be screened to-morrow night and Wednesday night at Sydenham Pictures. "Quo VadisP" depicts the wonderful history of Rome under the tyrant Nero. It is the only picture honoured by a Royal Command, and was witnessed by their Majesties the King and Queen on the 6th May. The picture shows the oourt of Nero, the Burning of Rome, scenes in the Colosseum, Rome, the sacrifice of the early Christians, and tho death of Nero. GRAND THEATRE. Tjb.o Grand Theatre, Cathedral square, was well patronised at all sessions on Saturday, when the programme was much appreciated. To-day there will bo an outire change of 'programme, commencing at 12 noon, when will be screened "A Sicilian Tragedy" (by the CSnes Company), "Tho Detective's T>og" (Solax drama), "The Tale of, a Black Eye" (Keystone comedy), "Jenks Buys a Dress" flLubin compdv), "Tho Eclair Journal (No. 43)," "The Sfilk Industry," and others. Special music will be provided by the Grand orchestra. On Saturday the studio in Cashel street was far too small to accommodate the visitors who wished to witnese the painting, "The Shadow of .the Cress." To-day will mark- tho opening of the fourth and farewell week in Christchurch, when Mr Kilpatrick will hold continuous receptions from 1 to 5 o'clock.
