FROM "THE PRESS" OF 1863.
, ♦ . ■. SATTJBDAY, DECEMBER sth. "We ; are glad to be in a position definitely to inform our readers that the All England Eleven will arrive in Christehurch early in February next. Wo understand that Mr Shadrech Jones arrived in Christehurch on Thursday, and that Messrs Stevens and Bennett the secretaries to the committee for. the All England match, have come to terms with him, so that the affair is positively settled, and we are to have the Eleven. Wβ need not say how heartily we rejoico in the prospect of the match, and must express our sense of the obligation which we %re under to Messrs Stevens and Bennett for the energy they have displayed in surmounting the obstacles which appeared at one timo to render the visit of the Eleven almost an impossibility,"
