AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION.
„ _ a MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Canterbury Automobile Association waa held on Wednesday. Several matters of importance were discussed, and a letter was read, from the Aiuuri County Council announcing that the dry creek bridge and approaches were completed and open for traihe. Uhe bridge is on the east side of the road, about half a chain below the present lino of road; it- has quite easy approaches from either side, and htia a dear width ,of 7ft 2in between the wheel guards. The committee of the Aarociation rtsolvcd to send their subsidy for £20 to the Amuri County Council towards this bridge. A lengthy programme was decided upon for the coming seaaon, and on December 14th there will bo a church parade to Oxford and Ashley Gorge church at eleven o'clock, ana members are requested to leave their residences in Christchurch not later than nine o'clock (lunch one o'clock). On January 10th a social run to Eangicia at two o'clock, when Mr A. S. Clarkeon will entertain members. On January 31st it hss boen arranged to hold a gymkhana at the Show Grounds. On February 14th the orphans' run to Motukarara. * On February 21st petrol consumption competition at the Trotting Grounds. On March 7th, Bth and 9th, reliability trial to Dunedin. On March 21ft, rocial run to Mr Goodwin'e, Pigeon Bay, and on April 4th and sth a run to Hanmer, where sports will be arranged.
