" Reeves. ** - Tho Chairman, in his report, stated that tho distribution of prizes in con- r nexion with the day school would take place at 2.30 p.m. on tho 19th inst. - The Appointments and Classes Commit-. too hau not had time to consider tho.. motion i-abled on tho subject of continuation education. reply bad been received to tho letter to tho Minister urging tliat the election of representatives on tho Board should take place in May or June. , The report was adopted, and it was. decided to write again to tho Minister* on the mnttor last mentioned. ? Tlio Finance Committee's repprt showed that there was .a balanco to credit of £302 4s 3d. . The .Building Committoo reported, that it was considering tho erection oft a shed at the playing fields to- contain * stable, feed store, and implement store, and asked for authority to put the work in hand.' Granted. " - - ',' Tho Director's reoort, 'which was. adopted, stated that the number of pupils enrolled was 1475 in all depart- - ments, as compared with 1330 last year. Ho acknowledged receipt of contnnu-; •I ions to the prize fund from the chairman of tho Board. Messrs "Whitcombe . and Tombs, ■> Boon and Co., Ashby. Borgh and Co.. Taylor and Oakley, and the D.I.C. Tho report waa adopted. ' The Appointments Committoo recooimended that Mr Petterd should be appointed instructor in. typography: that classes in sanitary science, as applied to buildings and public works, for Ahe engine-drivers'' certificate, and for motor-car body-making for be formed if sufficient inducements offer, that tho bookbinding cl_sa bodiscontinned; that in the case ot student assistants in the domestic ecienco department, for whom boarding accommodation would not bo available, next year. additional remuneration at v the rate of £10 per annum be paid.
