(By C_bli.—Pros Association—Cop-rig_U MELBOURNE. December 4. The Hon. Thomas Langdon, who is 81 years of age, has been elected Chairman of Committees in the Victorian Assembly.

Tho Hon. Thomas Langdon is one of the oldest members of thc Victorian Legislative Assembly. He was first elected in February, 1860, for Avoca, and sinco 1892 ho has sat for Korong. He was Minister without portfolio from February, 1904, to January, 1907, and for a brief period Chief Secretary. He was born in Somerset, England, in 1832.
