ANOTHER QUIET DAY.

Strike matters' in Christchurch were quiet yesterday, and there were few indications of the existence of any industrial unrest. At the Trades' Hall, it was reported that contributions to the Strike Fund continued to pour in. The Strike .Relief Committee is being kept fairly busy dealing with applications for assistance. Messrs Booth, Macdonald and Company propose re-opening their works this morning. The Railway Department would like to impress on the Christchurch merchants the necessity for clearing their goods with moro despatch than they are doing at present. At present there are about 200 .waggons awaiting discharge, and on account of some of th© merchants not clearing their goods, much delay is being caused.
