BOROUGH COUNCILS.

AKAROA. The fortnightly meeting of the Akaroa Borough Council was held on Wednesday. Present —The Mayor (Mr G. Armstrong), Crs. Leeto, Fyfe, Lewitt, Munro, Cantrell, and Vangioni. Correspondence was received from the Marine Department, defining the river limits of Akaroa harbour. Mr G. Shearwood, electrical engineer to the horough, forwarded his resignation, which was accepted, and it was decided to call applications for the position. The Lighting Committee reported that, owing to the increased sale of power, it was necessary to connect the Grehan Valley stream to the reservoir, and asked that steps be taken to raise the necessary loan of £1000.
