LYTTELTON HOTELS RE-OPENED.

A QUIET DAY. / Away from the waterfront the only event of importance in Lytteiton yesterday morning was the opening of the hotels at 9 o'clock, for the first time since Monday, November 24th. None of the hotels appeared to be doing much business, but tho opening of their doors was welcomed by those who were compelled to journey to Christchurch during the past week when they desired a drink. Matters were very quiet, but one man, a seaman belonging to one of the steamers in port, was arrested in Norwich quay during the afternoon on a charge of drunkenness. The hotels were closed promptly at 6 p.m.. when thrrc was perfect orderliness in tho streets.
