Som* very big port developments are to be effected at Vancouver, tbo estimated expenditure being six millions sterling. Tho Provincial Government hae granted tho foreahore rights to the Vancouver Harbour and Dock Extension Company, Limited, and that undertaking, it is stated, will construct new docks with a total area of about nine square miles, and a quayage of about 22 miles ia extent. A depth of 86ft at k>w water will be provided. Naturally,- the importance of the scheme is grs-tly increased by the fact that trade in that quarter of th-o- world w*!l bo -revolutionised by th* opening of the Panama Canal. . _,''*■■, The New Zealand Shipping Company a liner Rimutaka is to tail to-day for Bluff for Homeward loading.
