MR MILLER AT OKAIN'S BAY.
Mr M. J. Miller, the Reform candidate for the Lyttelton seat, addressed a meeting of electors in the Okain's Bay Schoolroom on Monday evening. There were about 40 present, and Mr C. S. F. Moore acted as chairman. The candidate was given an attentive hearing, there being but few interjections, which were taken in good part by the speaker. After making feeling reference to the death of the late member, Mr Miller spoke for nearly an hour on the policy and legislation of the Government. At the close of his address a number of questions were put and answered, and then Mr David, Jones, the Reform organiser, gave a short address, touching chiefly on land, finance, and the strike questions. He also answered questions put to him by the meeting. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs Miller and Jones, and a vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
