MILITARY DISPLAY.
AT KING EDWARD BARRACKS,
I The Christchiircb. Garrison military j display attracted a large attendance at the King Edward Barracks last night. The objects of tho display are to encourage the various teams to a high standard of efficiency to enable them to represent the Chxistcliurch garrison at the forthcoming tournament in Auckland, and to raise funds to assist Territorials and Senior Cadete to make tho trip; to give the general public somo idea of the training, and show the pro2res3 made under the new echerno. Tho whole display was a remarkably fine one notably tho rifle exercises by (senior Cadete, while tho exhibitions given by the Engineers and others, as well as the coanc events, such as ''tilting at tho bucket," kept spectators thoroughly amused. To-night tho tournament will be continued, when some interesting finals will bo contested. Results are: — Physical drill—Technical College Senior Cadets 1, liangiora Senior Cadets 2. Obstacle race—First beat: Turner (No. 66 Company Senior Cadete) 1, Brook-Taylor (No. GO Company, Senior Cadets) 2. Second hent: Hardy (E Battery) 1, Earrnhaw 2. Third lieat: Quorec (No. 66 Company, Senior Cadets) 1, Daniels (Signalling Company) 2. Tug-of-w.rr—N.Z. Railway Battalion 1, No. 1 Field Company N.Z.
