Alfred Tennyson 3loss, aged 22, met his death this evening under tragic ciroumstances. It appears that Moss was riding a bicycle along the tramway on his way to his home at 67 Frame 6treet, North-East Valley, shortly after five o'clock, and that when near Georgo street school a southward-bound tramcar, driven by Motorman Lenz, came into view on the parallel track. Simultaneously a motor-cyclist came along behind Moss, and the latter evidently intended to ma_"" way tor it. Instead, however, of steering* towards the lefthand, Moss cut right across the on-com-ing car and was struck by its left-hand corner and hurled to the ground. He was unconscious when picked up, and was at once taken to the Hospital where he died a little before six o'clock without recovering consciousness.
