CONSUMPTION FALLING OFF
("Ti_»<*_"-Sj_ney "Sun" Special Cabl-.) (Received December Ist, G. 30 p.m.) LONDON, November 30. Trade statistics reveal an appreciable decline in the consumption of beer. In 1898 tho average consumption was 31 gallons per head, against 2*B in 1912. Tho demand for spirits is also falling steadily. Cocoa and tea are increasing in popularity as beverages, whilst coffee is declining. The consumption of tobacco is rapidly rising. ,
