In tho "Strike Bulletin" issued by the Christchurch Striko Committee somo references to special constables and others havo appeared which are thought to be defamatory. Notice was served upon a member of the Strike Committee, and may bo served on others of tho Committeo, to attend at tho Court to-day, when application will be mado for leave to institute a prosecution under the Law of Libel Act, 1908. The Drivers' Union held a meeting last evening and decided to call the drivers out again, an appeal also being mado to other unions for co-operation. Work proceeded briskly and peacefully at the ports of Wellington, Auckland, and Lyttelton yesterday. At Lyttelton 400 men were at work and cargo was handled on 22 ships. In Auckland the hotels have been re-opened. Tho Dunedin strike leaders who wero arrested on charges of intimidation were bound over to keep the peace. The steamer Opawa, sorad of whose firemen left work, but wero placed on board, sailed from Wellington, but returned, owing to the firemen refusing duty. The men wero re-arrested on arrival. Tho position in Australia remains uncertain, but the Sydney watersiders havo refused to handle cargo on liners bound for New Zealand.
