DISTURBANCES IN ALSACELORRAINE.
/By Cable.—Press Association—-Co-_*_;at.) BERLIN*. November 30. ' Renewed disturbances have occurred «t Zabein, in Alsace-Lorraine. Citizens hustled officers, who called _ut the guard. The front ranks knelt and threatened to fire nnlc-s the streets were cleared. Tho crowd fled, and the soldiers Used the butt ends of their guns. Forty arrests were made, including |iro magistrates. • Officers are unablo to appear in tho greets without a guard with fixed bayonets. Unofficial versions accuse the military 0 f violent excesses, and the public demands the removal of the 99th Regiment. Tho authorities are much concerned, and have ordered an enquiry.
