IvIRS H. E. STEVENS.
By the death of Mrs Harriet Esther Stevens, Sumner has lost a respected *■ rcsidont. She was a nativo of __eat» ' and arrived in New Zealand with her - first hilsband (Mr Chamberlain) 28 -> years ago, but subsequently -Bent to *■ India where Mr Chamberlain died* Tho deceased returned to New Zealand, + and settled at Sumner, mai rying Mr Stevens abont 16 years a*_o. She wa- >- an earnest worker on behalf of th» Durham street Methodist Church, and j—. a keen supporter of the Sumner Life- t, saving Society and Christchurch Model Yacht Club. Deceased haves two * sons to mourn their loss, hei husband having died somo years ago. ~ n j
