LICENSING COMMITTEES.
I-i-lAPOI. The quarterly meeting of the Kaiapoi Licensing Committee was held yesterday. Present—Messrs T. A. B. Bailey, S.M. (chairman), T. Mabley, F. Howell, C. Leech and J. L. Wilson. The police reports on the conduct of the hotels were satisfactory. An application for the - renewal of the license of tho Commercial Hotel, Oxford, adjourned from the annual meeting, was granted, improvements having Eeen effected, to the water sunply. The police reported that the drainage at tho hotel was defective, and tho Hon. C. Lo-isson, for the owner, agreed to have repairs carried out*without delay.
