Tho Peninsular and Oricntol Company ->*_ decided to add _200,000 out of profits to thp ©_i_ting _r_50,000 in the suspcase account, making this combined provision a contingent fund for the purpose of securing m far_as possible the present level of dividends. Tho new arrangement is due to the rising expenditure on coal and wages, vjptua ling, repair., the unoertainties of a new moil contract, and depression in the freight market.
