FIRES.
OUTBREAK IN ST. ASAPH STKEET.
The Fire Brigade was called on Saturday to the foundry of Messrs 1. >v addell and Sons, St. Asaph streot, which they found ablaze tuo fire having got a good bold. The brigade, under Superintendent Warner, did smart work, and though the patterns were badiy damaged/ and the roof* of the pattern shop was burnt, the rest of the premises was saved. Apparently a spark from the furnaces, where moulding had been proceeding, had got among tho patterns. The building is insured for £260, and the patterns for £lUO, both in the New Zealand Insurance Company.
The City Fire Brigade received a call at 2.25 p.m. yesterday afternoon to a two-storied house in Tuam street, occupied by Mr H. A. McCormick. The flames, which were discovered between the match-lining and the weatherboards, were extinguished after having caused only botween £10 and £15 worth of damage:
