COALGATE MARKET.

At Coalgate market, on Friday, the yarding of sheep and lambs was a small one, only 550 coming to hand, all, with the exception 22, being in the store pens, and consisting of ewes with lambs at foot, in small odd lots, and chiefly aged sorts. There was a limited attendance, but competition was fairly good, and all lines changed hands as follows: —Fat crossbred ewes (shorn) 19s 6d, mixed ages (mostly aged), crossbred e%ves (woolly), with lambs, 12s 6d to 13s 4d, all counted; aged merino ewes (woolly), with lambs, 6s 8d to 8s Bd, all counted. About 30\ head of cattle were also yarded. Sales were:— Mixed cattle, of mixed ages, £3 12s j yearlings to 15-month cattle,, £3 7s; calves, 30s. A few pigs,,small sorts, sold at full market rates.
