ASHBURTON MARKET REPORT.
Thp position of the grain market may bo reported as unaltered from what has prevailed for some time past. The partial resumption of coastal shipping is enabling merchants to get orders away which have been hung up for some weeks, and new enquiries for small lots of oats aro being received. } Wheat —Oiferings by growers have dwindled down to odd lots. Millers are not inclined to give any extreme prices, and the ruling prico for good quality Tuscan is 3s 6_d to 3s 7d, on rail, country stations. Oats —The market is quiet, and values aro, nominally:—Gartons Is lOd to Is lld, Duns and Danish Is 9d to Is 10d on trucks. ... Chaff —Tho demand continues good for prime quality, for which grade 67s 6d to 70s-per ton, on trucks, is current value. There is a fair amount oi second quality chaff on offer, which does not command a ready sale, even at a reduction of 10a per ton on price of prime grade.
