END OF THE SESSION.
IMPORTANT WORK STILL TO BE DONE.
.(____._. ro -'the __.__?.''> WELLINGTON, November 30. The general opinion of members seems now to be that the session will end on Saturday, December 13th, but it is admitted that, this will entail steady and unbroken progress with the work that remains in hand. One prominent member of the Opposition Party, who was spoken to on Saturday, expressed the opinion that it would be impossible to conclude before December 20th. It is now definitely accepted that no attempt will be made to deal with the Customs tariff this session, a decision that brings the end of the session perceptibly nearer, but, even so, the list of Bills which aro considered have a good chance of being put through this session is still a lonrone, and there are a number of important- items of business besides, wMcli must be disposed of beforo Parliament can close down. It is ex~ pected that the House will be oxugaged on Tuesday evening with small JJUIs on the Order Paper, and that the serious work of tho week will commenc© on the __f_w?_g day. Th* -Works Statement and Estimates wi_ probably i not come «_ for discussion until Friday nest. Probably next Monday evening (December Bth) will be <-?™*^. n * debate upon Mr G. Hunter a Gaming Amendment Bill.
