AT THE ADDINGTON CAMP.

Affairs.at the Sliow ground camp are going -on steadily and quietly. Mr John Studholme is in command of the four hundred "mounteds" and the hundred foot "special s" that; are in camp at the present time, and the men are being systematically drilled. It is understood that in the very near future the number of "specials" will bo considerably reduced as it; is found that their services will not be required. Also as the men are - drilled and become more proficient in their work a lesser number will be able to do all that is necessary to preserve "law and order." Even at the present time It has been found po&siblo to allow quite a number of the older hands to return to their homes and to attend to their business, and there is no lack of offers to fill their places. About one hundred mounted men are detailed to patrol the city, and their places are taken by a fresh body of men in the. afternoons, so that all get a fair sharo of/ tho rather tiring and monotonous work.
