A mass meeting will be held in Victoria square at 8 this evening in connexion with the strike. Messrs PC. Webb, M;P., and W. T. Mills will be the speakers. The flower show jn connexion with St. Michael's bazaar is postponed till December 17th. A special summoned meeting of St. Patrick's branch. No. 82, -H.A.C.B. Society, will be held in the Hibernian Hall., at 8 p.m.'on Monday. The Papanui Sports Club's meeting has been postponed indefinitely owing to the strike. A; fancy fair will be held at the Riccarton vicarage on Wednesday and Thursday next. • " Handel's "Messiah" will be given in the Durham street church by the Christchurch Methodist Choir Union on Thursday and Saturday' next.
