Lord Desborough presided at the inaugural banquet of the British. Colonial Council of Commerce. Mr George Cave, M.P., urfied amalgamation, of the Judicial Committco of "the Privy Council and the Houso of Lords and dissented from thg idoa of a peripatetic Judicial Committee. ' . ■.: ;>. -;■. Mr Buxton welcomed tho Council as an Imperial clearing houso for tho interchange of views. .•>.■■ The Hon. T. Mackenzie said ho hoped to see a British Council of Empiro' founded on trade. ;•. ■-•■'.
