ITS CULTIVATION IN AUSTRALIA
AGREEMENT ARRIVED AT.

The Colonial Office announces that an agreement of principle has been arrived at between the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments and the Dominions' Royal Commission and the British Cotton-growing Association regarding cotton-growing in Australia. A sum of £1500 has been promised, including £100 per annum for three years, by the Association to securo skilled advice and practical experience with various seeds, the Association guaranteeing for threo years from July, 1914, a minimum not price of 6}d per lb at Liverpool for cotton specified in the description.
Cotton has been grown in Queensland and in the Northern Rivers district of New South "Wales.
