SUMNER METHODIST CHURCH
The Sunday school anniversary ser r ] vices in connexion with St. Paul's Methodist" Church, Sumner,-were held on Sunday last. The morning service was conducted by the Rev. W. Laycock. Addressing the children, he besought them to keep a strict watch, and guard over their mind, words, actions, thoughts, habits, and particularly the choice of companions and books. In the afternoon a children's service was conducted by the Rev. Stanley Cross. The evening service w;vs conducted by the Rev. W. Lee. T'uere were large congregatipns, MifiK Burrows being the organist, and Mr L. P. Longuct conducting the choir. On Wednesday evening a tea and social was held, followed by the prize distribution. The following were the prize winners:—Attendance, Thelma Collins, Clarrie Collins, Clarine Cuddy, Leslie Heslop. Sefton Line, lan Watson, Fanny Ferguson, Mary Lawson, Ethel Newman, Alec Craib,- Reginald Campbell and Dorothy Ferguson. Special prize, conduct, etc.: Mary Lawson, Ethel Newman, Alec' Craib and Reginald Campbell; primary (Girls), Lorna Ferguson, Edna Heslop, Dora Laweon, Ivy Merrett, May Merrett, Eva Merrett, Phillis Wilkinson. Joyce Wilkinson, Daphne Fariand, Marjory Pegtey* Beatrice Collins. Lena Lawson, Rita Wilkinson, Muriel Herman and Joyce Longuet. Primary (boys). Kool Campbell, Rcy Campbell, Jim Merrett, WilEe .Merret*, Evan Cuddy, Rawie WflMnson, Lambert Fountain. Jack Craib, Jack Wilson, Donald Wilson, Allan Wilson, Ernie Merrett. Archie Craib, Bazil Sexton, and Willie Craib.
