CHRISTCHURCH MUSICAL SOCIETY.
The Christchurch Musical Society's of the season will be given in His. Majesty's Theatre on Thursday and Friday, 18th and 19th December, when Bizet's famous" opera "Carmen" will bo performed. The cast for the performances has been, well chosen, and will include Messrs FrariS Graham (Don Jose), Frank Charlton (Escamillo), R. Vincent (11 Dancairo), "W. J. Trewern (II Remenado), G. March (Zuniga and Morales), Misses M. Jennin£|( (Micaela), D. Lezard (Frasquita), I. Rogers (Mercedes), and Mina Caldow (Carmen). Miss Caldow has just returned to the Dominion, after many successes. in London and the provinces, and has been specially "coached" in this work by. Herr Greunobaum, tho famous operatic "coach." This evening a special practice for'the orchestra will be held in the Durham street schoolroom at eight o'clock.
