THE BUBLE AS A GUIDE.
TO THB EDITOR OP "THE F8153." Sir, —Would you kindly permit mc to point out what I believe to be the reason of the present trouble, and also the remedy? In Hosea, chapter iv., 6th verse, we get at the root of the disease in these words: —"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." But we have a way of escape and enlignten-
meat in Romans xiii., commanding every soul to be- subject to tho higher powers, for the powers that bo are ordained of God. and in resisting the powers we aro fighting against God, consequently receiving damnation. Now, if we consider the party in power to be wrong, our duty is to alter it at the ballot box, and "so do things decently and in order. I know in these latter days, when men are heady, and high-minded, as described in Timothy ii., chapter 3, the above advice will tall on blind eyes and deaf ears. Nevertheless, I feel confident that all people will j be driven into obedience of tho New I Testament teaching by the punishment i disobedience or sin inflicts.—Yours, etc. W. FITZ-HENRY.
