AT DUNEDIN.
(nUESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.)
BUNEDIN, November 27. With the arrival of the Turakina and Dorset, a decision will be made in the direction of handling cargo at the wharves. Ihiring the pact few days about 55 men have been engaged. The Commerce Defence Committee state that fully double that number will be ready to turn to when the call is given, and it is anticipated that no further trouble will be experienced in getting all the labour required.. A number of men are expected to arrive from the country to-morrow or next day, under engagement to work on the wharves under the Arbitration Union, and it is very probable that a fair percentage of the old .hands will resume work under the new arrangement.
A portion of the Victorian wharf wae barricaded to-day, but no serious disturbance is anticipated.
The Northern was an empty ship at 3 o'clock, and steamed to Port Chalmers to dock. Good work was done on the Tavitini, Kotare, and Invercargill.
