EFFICACY OF VACCINATION.

MELBOURNE, November 27

A paper issued by the Federal Health Department says the figures for the Sydney epidemic prove the efficacy of vaccination. Of the patients 95.3 per cent, were unvaocinated, and 4.7 per cent, were vaccinated in infancy or over thirteen years ago. No person .who had been successfully vaccinated within thirteen years was attached. Out of 132 contacts who did not develop the disease, 22 had been vaccinated over ten years ago, 91 had been vaccinated about the time of admission to quarantine, and the other nineteen were immune. ■ (Received November 28th, 12.30 a-m.) One case of smallpox was reported at Mac Lean to-day, and ope in the city.
