"80-PEEP"—TO-NIGHT
To-night at the Theatre Royal the pantomime "80-Peep" is to be staged by Stanley McKay's Royal Pantomime Company, which is making its first appearance in New Zealand after a successful tour of the Australian States. The company is a complete pantomimo ono from principal boy to demon spirits, and it is claimed that "BoPeep" will be staged in a manner that will equal anything of tho kind seen in. Christchurch. The scenery is said to bo quite in keeping -with the talents of the performers, and includes a'grand transformation, "The Four Seasons," from the brush of that well-known artist Mr Harry Whaite, is claimed to be noted for sparkling music arid tuneful melodies and songs. The latter includes "Shady Lane," sung by Miss Kathleen Mack and Miss Rita Webb (principal girl), a number which is particularly attractive to the ear; "Tho Pearl of Persia," sung by Miss Cora Terry: and "I'm the Shah Tarantara," by Mr Walter Carnock. A rousing number is "Children of the Empire." which accompanies an ensemble, in,\vjiich the ladies of the company are atlired in costumes representing the "Motherland's Dominions." The dances include a floral ballet, performed by a selected band of young ladies. A matinee will be held to-morrow afternoon. The box-plan is at tho Dresden.
