CASUALTIES.
An employee of Mr Bachelor had the misfortune to meet with a painful accident on Tuesday. Whilst engaged in sawing timber at the Glenmarx estate, Waipara, ho was drawn towards the circular saw by a big log which was on the timber table, and put out his hand to ward off danger. - His hand came in contact with the saw, compietely severing the thumb. The sufferer wa3 brought to Ambrrley and attended to by Dr. Perry, and is now progressing satisfactorily.
fPRESS ASSOCIATION TET.EGRAM.I AUCKLAND, November 27. Jane Deborah Gallot. aged 67, died at the hospital from the effects of poison. Evidence at the inquest showed that she had been in ill-health for eleven years and had several times remarked that she was tired of life. A verdict of suicide while in a depressed mental st&te was returned.
