The suggestion made in the House to-day by Sir Joseph "Ward that »r Joshua WillMiroe be authorieed to negotiate for a settlement of the strike will probably be considered by the Citizens' TJefence Committee to-morrow mornIt is understood that the attitude of the employers will be that there is no need for the intervention of Sir Joshua Wniianis or anyone else, in view of the fact that arbitration unions have been established in each centre, which are carrying out the work of the various ports efficiently, and that any men who desire to re+nrn to wark can secure employment by becoming members of the new unions.
