A special meeting of the Spreydon Borough Council was held on Tuesday night for the purpose of considering the position that has arisen owing to ! the drivers' strike. ' | " The following motion was agreed to after the subject had l>een discussed at some length: -—"That; on- account of the strike interfering with the delivery of material, all -casual, hands be temporarily suspended." i The effect of this resolution is that about' thirty men etnployed on the works in the No. 2 loan ing, concreting and -channelling—will be temporarily out ofj work, and the work will be hung up;till material can be conveyed to the works.
