Kavalky Mustapha was sentenced to death in contumaeiam for the murder of Shevket Pasha. He was arrested on board a Russian steamer with tho co-operation of the Russian Consul, who was apparently misled by representations that Kavalky was an ordinary criminal. . The Russian Ambassador has protested, and demanded the return of tho prisoner, also the dismissal of Aymi Bey, Prefect of Police, for deception.
