"A FINISHED RASCAL.

(TOMS ASSOCIATION TELECHAH.) AUCKLAND, November 26. James Henderson Thompson, who was charged at tho Police Court with being an idle and disorderly person, and without lawful moans of support, and with obtaining-money by false pretences, was described by the police as a finished rascal, although he had never been in Court before. He was charged under tho aliases of Dr. Thompson and Dr. Jordan. Hβ had represented himself as a remittance man, and had imposed on various hotels and boardinghouses. The accused was arrested in Wellington under the name of Dr. Jordan. Accused pleaded that he suffered from a weak heart, and was always under the influence of morphia. Mr Frazer, S.M., said the only thing he could do for the accused was to sentenco him to reformative treatment for twelve months.
