The Christchurcli Homing Pigeon Society flew off n race from Eaitoki on Saturday. Sixty-nine birds vvero .eor.t-. representing fourteen lofis competing. Tho weie liberated by the etationmnster at 9.30 turn, in fin« -weather, with so wir.d, but a strong north-east wind sprang up later, which helped to make tho birds put up fact tinice, tho prize winners only being divided by seconds. The winner turned out to be Mr E. Kowo'e Marvel, vfaich flew the distance of 221 rai!«s 1253 yards air-line in 4hr 26aiin STeec. The following is the order they finished: —E. Kobe's Marvel, M63vds per mia; C. Mortimer's Victor, 1462 yds; 3f. Giay'e Cannonball, 1462 yds; J. liifcson's Indian lied, WC2yds; W. Johnson's ilore, 1460 yd»; A. Fiulayson'e Boiinio Doon, HZSyda; E. Miles's Lβ Bon, H3Byde: F. Kingsford'a Red Hall, 1454 yds; F. Smith's To Rti, 1446 yds; J. Barter's Victory, litsrda; A. Johnson's Ned Corbctt, 1426yds-. A*.
