GENERAL BOTHA'S PROTEST.
General Botha, at the National Congress, hotly protested against the allegations ofi, ill-treatment of Indians, which, ho said, would do incalculable harm. no expressed surprise that responsible statesmen should go so far as to question tho Government's good faith. It tho accusers did not abandon that attitude, he saw very little hope for the future.
