ROYAL ARTILLERY BAND.
VISIT TO CHRISTCBTURCH
Tie Boyal Artillery Band, under • engagement to the executive of tho 'Auckland Exhibition, arrived in Christ- ' church by the first express from tho south yesterday. Tho band, 44 strong, is under tho baton of Mr E. C. Strcttojj, and its captain is Captain precston. On the railway station to weicomo the band were the Mayor (Mr H. Holland) and the following members of the '■nroeritive of the South Island Band Station: Messrs T. F. Hall, W. T. niifor W. Webioy, and H. Burson. The"reception was quite informal, and .forwards the members of the band •imt to the Dominion Hotel, where 7fc«»v vrill .stay during the time they Sβ in Chnstchurrh. The Mayor has arranged for tho members o*f the band to leave by tram for Cashmere Hills at iO. a.m. to-day, and'afterwards tbey will go to New Brighton.
