OLD WATERSIDERS UNION.
AWAITING REPLIES FROM SYDNEY. STRIKE MAY BE CALLED OFF. (special to "the pbess.") . WELLINGTON, November 24. A meeting of the old Waterside Workers' Union was held to-day. There was a large attendance. On being approached, a member of the executive told a reporter that there was nothing arising out of the meeting for communication, to the Press. It is understood, however, that it is the intention of the union to carry out their present tactics till they receive i reports from the delegates who went across to Sydney in the Ulimaroa last Friday. From what could be gathered, it ap-
pears that if the unions on the other side of the Tasman Sea do not take an active part in the strike, it will be called off as far as the Wellington watersiders are concerned.
