OHOKA.
On Saturday afternoon a very successful Garden* Party was held at the residence of Mr It. "Ward, Rowlands. The weather was perfect for the occasion, and a large number of residents were present. The Garden Party is an annual fixture given for the girls and staff of To Waipounamu College. A number of games were played during tho afternoon. Songs were sung by Mrs J. T. Martin, and pianoforte solos were given by Mrs C. Threlkeld. After tea tho largo dining-room was well filled, when the Maori girls gave a number of items, including several songs and part songs, which wore much, appreciated. Songs wore also contributed by Mr Sherwin, Mr Ryde, and Mrs G. Pearco. •Cheers were given for Mr and Mrs Ward before the gathering broke up.
The Rev. J. T. Martin and Mrs Martin are working very hard for a concert which the Wesleyan Sunday School intend to givo early in December. It is for the purpose of raising funds for the erection of more class-rooms. Mrs Martin is training the children, and Mr Martin is coaching the young men.
