The Hon. D. Buddo, M.P., left for Wellington last night.
Mr Gerry, general manager of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, is visiting Christchurch.
Commissioner Cullen was booked to leave Wellington for Lyttelton by tho Maunganui last night.
Messrs M. Murphy and J. Deans havo been elected members of tho Board of Governors of the Canterbury Agricultural College.
At a gathering of members of the Chamber of Commerce, hold at Wellington yesterday, at which tho Panama Exposition Commissioners were welcomed, it was announced that Mr E. Clifton, Director of Experimental Farms, would be the New Zealand Commissioner at the Panama Exposition.
Mr John A. Bartmm, M.Sc, at present assistant .geologist in the New Zealand Geological Survey Department, has been appointed lecturer in geology at the.Auckland University. He was educated at the Timaru and Christchurch Boys' High Schools and Otago University. There were two other New Zealand candidates for the position.
Miss A. I. Wilson, M,A„ who is next year to take up a secretarial position in connexion with tho Australasian Student Christian Association movement, has resigned her position as assistant-mistress at the Girls' High School, the resignation having been accepted by the Board of Governors of Canterbury College at tho meeting yesterday. Miss E. M. Mcintosh, M.A.. has been appointed to a position on the staff, and Miss Baxter has been promoted to the position rendered vacant by the resignation of Miss Wilson, Miss Bims being appointed a permanent teacher.
