CANTERBURY COLLEGE v. OTAGO UNIVERSITY.
The annual match between Canterbury College and Otago University will bo commenced at 10.30 this morning at Hagley Park, and more than the average amount of interest is being shown in the game. Each side includes a number of first-grade cricketers, and, given fine weather, some good play should bo witnessed. Afternoon tea will be provided, and the following players have been selected to take part in the game: —
Canterbury College.—Blank, Donnelly, Crawshaw, Crichton, Moor. Luttrell, Thomas, Richards, Young, Smith, and Guernsey.
Otago University.—Fisher, Smith, Niven, Tweedy. Eggleton, Alloo (2), Hutchinson, and Keid (2).
Playing at Tai Tapu. Week's, Ltd., defeated Tni Tapu by 20 runs. Week's Ltd. mado 82 (Fraser 29, Poore 18, Evans 11), and Tai Tapu replied with 62 (Haughey 28. Dumpleton 16). For the winners, Fraser and Evans bowled best, while Haughey and Barrett bowled best for the losers.
Ohoka Seniors played Swannanoa on Saturday, at Ohoka. The home team batted first and made 74 (G. Gallagher 15, E. Ryde 14, B. Baynes 14. F. Bower 13). Swannanoa mado 115 for 3 wickets (H. Bennet 42. Alladice 24. E. Venall 28 not out). The match will be finished on a later date. Alladice and Venall bowled best for Swannanoa.
